Common Indian Diet Plan for Kidney Stone Patients
General Guidelines
- Drink 2.5–3 liters of water throughout the day (or enough to produce pale yellow urine).
- Add 1 glass of lemon water (without sugar) daily if your doctor approves.
- Reduce salt intake to less than 5 grams (1 teaspoon) per day.
- Avoid dehydration, especially in hot weather.
Early Morning (6:30–7:00 AM)
- 2 glasses of water
- 5 soaked almonds (optional)
Breakfast (8:00–9:00 AM)
Choose any one:
- Vegetable poha
- Vegetable oats
- Vegetable daliya
- 2 idlis with sambar
- 2 whole wheat vegetable cheelas
Drink:
- Milk or tea (without excess sugar)
Mid-Morning (11:00 AM)
Choose any one:
- Apple
- Pear
- Papaya
- Watermelon
- Muskmelon
Lunch (1:00–2:00 PM)
- 2 whole wheat rotis
- 1 bowl dal
- 1 bowl seasonal vegetable
- Cucumber and cabbage salad
- 1 small bowl curd
Evening Snack (4:30–5:30 PM)
Choose any one:
- Roasted chana
- Roasted makhana
- Sprouts (small bowl)
- Fresh fruit
Dinner (7:30–8:30 PM)
- 2 whole wheat rotis
- Mixed vegetable curry
- 1 bowl dal or paneer (moderate amount)
- Salad
Before Bed
- 1 glass water (if your doctor has not advised fluid restriction)
